With an average production of 12 million bags per year, the southern region of Minas Gerais is the largest producer of coffee in Brazil. This region is a traditional production area of Arabica Coffee (introduced in the 1850s) and is characterized by rolling hills, a mild climate averaging 23° C and altitudes from 850 to 1,250 meters. While some of the largest coffee producing properties in Brazil are located in Sul de Minas, more than half are small to medium-sized farms. The most cultivated varieties are Catuai and Novo Mundo. Additional varieties that can be found include, Icatu, Obatã and Red Catuai. Most of the coffees produced use a natural process.

Caramel, chocolate and tropical fruit notes. Sweet, clean, well balanced with medium acidity and good body.
